Waterproofing works
Works carried out this week to a basement and garage in Chester-le-Street, Co Durham. We were asked by the client to provide a waterproofing system to deal with any potential water ingress due to the property being built into a hillside. Normally this would involve fitting a pump and incorporating waterproofing to the floors but the client was happy to leave these as the floors contained a damp proof membrane, waterproof re-inforced concrete and concrete screed.
We therefore fit a new waterproofing cavity drain membrane to the walls using specialist fixings, fitted treated timbers to the walls, insulation, plasterboard and provided a skim plaster finish. A perimeter drainage channel was fitted to the edge of the floors, flood tested and connected to the external drain.
