10 Years service

A big thankyou and congratulations to our Surveyor/Contracts Manager Jim Millar on his 10 years of service. Jim is an integral part of what we do and his efforts undoubtedly helped us win Contractor of The Year (just a shame he was on holiday at the time of the award).Jim has worked with Andrew for over 25 years and they have never even had a cross word in that time which is certainly good, although they do both share the same birthday which may help with reading the other's mind. Thanks again Ji...

Waterproofing Project

Works carried out this week to a basement and garage in Chester-le-Street, Co Durham. We were asked by the client to provide a waterproofing system to deal with any potential water ingress due to the property being built into a hillside. Normally this would involve fitting a pump and incorporating waterproofing to the floors but the client was happy to leave these as the floors contained a damp proof membrane, waterproof re-inforced concrete and concrete screed.  We therefore fit a new wate...

Survey for Insect Infestation

Carried out a survey this week for a customer who had purchased a new table constructed from a newly felled section of timber. All was fine until it was brought home and now literally hundreds of beetles are emerging from the timber. We identified this as Bark Borer Beetle (Ernobius mollis) which affects timbers containing bark and the outer sap rings of timbers. Such a shame for the client as removing the bark to kill off the infestation is going to take away one of the features why they purcha...

Customer Reviews

Excellent reviews left on our social media pages last week. Well done to all staff concerned."We found this company on the Property Care Association website and decided to use this company because of the professional criteria they had to meet to be a member. We needed a wall tie and damp survey. The surveyor was the only one who removed the mortar from the brick to inspect the wall tie where others just said a house this old should have the wall ties replaced. As it happened the wall ties were b...
